In 1921, founder C.G. Johnson invented the upward-lifting garage door, and just 5 years later, the electric garage door opener in 1926. This was the beginning of the Overhead Door™ brand.
Johnson’s brand quickly gained a reputation for quality, service and integrity. 100 years on, our goal is to offer to our customers the same standards of high quality, extraordinary service and integrity that C.G. Johnson based his company on.
Meet Our Team
Jason, President
Taking over the helm of the family business was not always on Jason’s path. He first earned his Master’s degree in music and mathematics, and then jumped into software development. In creating the internal software system that powers the company today, Jason has modernized his grandfather’s legacy. Jason is most proud of his two families: his three children, and his work family at Overhead Door. He is a conductor, a jazz musician, and a five-time Iron Man triathlete.
Zdenko, Commercial Install Manager
16 years ago Zdenko walked through the door and took the reins of the Commercial Install department, and never looked back. Creative, generous, and detail-oriented are just a few of Zdenko’s characteristics. Experienced in all aspects of what it takes to get your business the perfect door, Zdenko personally handles each step from the initial phone call to getting the crew on site. A world traveller and family man, Zdenko embraces life to its fullest every single day.
Graeme, Field Operations Manager
In 2012 Graeme stumbled across a job posting for an Apprentice Service Technician with OHD and has never looked back. In addition to being a certified Master Technician, Graeme has combined his years of on-the-job training in service and installations with his certifications in Electrical, and Business Management, to grow both as a technician and as a leader. Graeme enjoys creating innovative solutions to challenges both in the field and office, finding the balance of the two incredibly rewarding. Outside work, he can be found keeping busy with his many hobbies.
Duffy, Warehouse Manager
18 years ago Duffy joined OHD as a warehouse assistant and driver. Today he manages the endless hustle and bustle associated with our incredibly busy shop! Ordering, receiving, fabricating, and safety are just a few of the items on Duffy’s daily task list. Outside this, Duff enjoys family time, an active lifestyle, and beating his latest Grouse Grind time!
Marcela, Accounting Manager
Often called the “heart and soul of the OHD office”, Marcela has spent the last 16 years taking care of the entire OHD family. Specializing in payroll, overseeing the AP/AR team, and keeping the financial side of the business running smoothly, Marcela really can do it all. After hours Marcela enjoys cheering on her 2 children at their soccer games and camping with friends.
Dennis, Controller
Joining OHD in 2021, Dennis brought 20 years of experience as a CPA and a passion for all things finance, especially in the realm of family-run businesses. With a keen eye for detail, unending patience, and an incredible sense of humour, Dennis keeps us all on our toes! Outside numbers, Dennis enjoys hiking, sports, and DIY projects with his family.
